My mouse wont look up or down or side to side
i have freelook on so idk what is wrong

os as in open arena or os as in operating system
ill go with open arena...im using 0.8.1

Open Arena 0.8.1 and i have open arena on Windows XP Professional SP2 and Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty

And that problem happened in both OS? Could you upload your q3config.cfg here? (It's located on D&S/<user>/Application Data/OpenArena/baseoa on Win, and in Home/<user>/.openarena/baseoa on Ubuntu AFAIK)

i dont play it much in linux due to its laggy
trying to get it working in windows
also i dont have that file

Have you checked on %OAfolder%/baseoa, being %OAfolder% the folder where you've installed OA?

all i did was download the folder
opened it up and extracted the inside folder and played it

note that openarena uses a special folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\Huh?\Application Data\OpenArena\baseoa\" (win xp) for configs and downloaded external pk3-files. the config-file should be in there.

"cl_freelook 1" <-- should be one as you stated in your first post

does the mouse work in the menus?

does the mouse work in the openarena menus? or is it just broken in-game?

go into "setup / control" and make sure that freelook is on.
