nope, there is no "official" xfire support, but you can get partial support by using the quake 3 arena entry or creating your own dev_games.ini. be warned though, other people wont see that you are playing open arena, the server list doesnt work, and it wont show up on your profile. xfire ingame, video capture, screenshots, and a few other things will work though. also, you might have some crashing due to 0.7.6 using sdl and xfire expecting whatever quake 3 normally uses.

I'm not sure but I think it's a work that has to be done by Xfire, not by OA ... so you may rather contact XFire's team.

if you want support for it in xfire bitch about the lack of support to the xfire admins as i and a few others have. there is a thread in their new game ideas category on their forums but it keeps getting buried under other crap, and i think they are pretty much ignoring us anyway.

Yeah xfire forums are a nightmare, there's certain annoying kids bumping up threads many times a day 'please support this crappy game please?' etc.

Ok, I've seen a request for Xfire support on Xfire forums, and their response was that the DEVELOPERS need to ask and give them info for it to be supported. I have no idea who is in charge here, but it'd be nice to have some Xfire support. I'd like to be able to play OA , and then when my clan needs me in Quake 4, 3 or Live, I'd like to be able to chat in game. Taking screen shots, frag videos etc. would be really nice too.

As to why peeps don't like Xfire I have no clue. it's just like any other program and it seems to be taking up less and less resources as it updates. Back when I 1st started in 2006 my PC would kinda lagg when I recorded video, but now it doesn't really effect my gameplay that much. As for being "commercial" , who really cares? I just turn on my Xfire start a game and off we go, whatever you mean by "commercial" it really doesn't seem to affect me.
