After the update certain textures have a shiny effect.

I have everything turned low and can't seem to remove it.
Is there a CVAR that I can use?

I'm not mad keen on Picmip (if that's the solution) but I will if I have to :/

Thanks

I am not sure about what you call shiny effect.

r_flares
r_bloom

If it is not them then it is not something you can turn off. But I really don't notice anything except for these two.

Yeah it's not that - Thanks.

Umm wall textures have this now - Hydronex has a dark band that goes around the map walls.
Well that's shiny and before it wasn't.

If it's shiny and it's there then it's meant to be there.

Try a fresh install, first with 081 and then the patch.
