Acidentally discovered a "blood sprays everywhere when you shoot anyone" option in my q3config.cfg the other day. (Didn't recognise seta cg_leiSuperGoreyAwesome "0" in my q3config.cfg so I changed it to seta cg_leiSuperGoreyAwesome "1" to see what it'd do...) Not sure who or what put it there (mayba a mod I tried, or a server I joined?), but if I rename q3config.cfg to q3config.cfg.bak, the new auto-generated q3config.cfg doesn't have that line.

Still, it is, as the name says, "awesome". ^_^

(Would be cool to have a variable to really crank it up, like to FairyTale Fights levels, tho... Tongue)

i'm responsible for the "cg_lei*" cvars (it's one of the only pieces of code i've ever added to OA). Unfortunately there is a limit to local entities from cgame so I can't overdo the splatter if I wanted.  To go much further would mean taking things engineside with a scripted decal/particle system akin to Darkplaces. Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

Oh, ok. It's still pretty awesome even the way it is. ^_^

I was more wondering how it got into my q3config.cfg rather than who wrote it, since it doesn't seem to be part of the auto-generated q3config.cfg? Like I said, I'm guessing either a mod or someone's server did it.

For that matter, it isn't really mentioned anywhere, either. Doesn't look like it's mentioned on the wiki at all, and this thread seems to be the only one on the whole board that mentions it. And cg_leiSuperGoreyAwesome only gets like 6 hits on Google, most of which are the same few .c files. Any particular reason? Or just forgot to point it out to people?

(BTW, are there any other cg_lei* variables besides cg_leiSuperGoreyAwesome, cg_leiGoreNoise, cg_leiEnhancement, and cg_leiBrassNoise? Those are the ones that randomly appeared in my q3config.cfg file.)

To know what variables begin with a particular prefix, just begin to type and then press TAB key in console.
type /cg_lei and press TAB...

I haven't tried... maybe using /seta cg_leiSuperGoreyAwesome 1 may cause it being saved to the cfg file. If not, just add it to an autoexec.cfg file in your baseoa folder, and it should be executed every time you launch OpenArena.

It all originated from this thread: http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=3386.0.
However, only cg_leiEnhancement is mentioned specifically. See Reply #4
