As some of you know some of us have been working with me on the newest openarena movie and it should be coming out by this weekend its part of the OA promotion  other videos My Youtubebefore i release it i want to use some video editors and some video converters anybody have anything to say post here |

ffmpeg, mencoder. You'd most likely want some GUI as well. But you don't need one. If you don't get familiar with the differences, advantages and pitfalls of the containers, codecs and their parameters, any tools is as good as another.

If you ask for really good editor Cinerella is da thing. BUT it is NOT noob friendly!!!
Kdenlive is second best I used and Openshot is getting better with each release.

You said "sometimes Linux", which is where a lot of the free programs are located. Some Linux programs are ported to Windows, including many KDE packages.
