Hi, I saw this link (DO NOT LINK) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Making_a_player_model saying
Quote
we use Blender 2.45. Blender 2.57 messes up the MD3 import/export plugin, you should use 2.49

This still true for 2.62? The animation system from 2.5+ is way better than 2.4x and not compatible with old version 2.4x, so is there a possibility to use 2.6x to develop models for OA?

Are someone doing it here on Blender?
Cheerios.

I tried this on 2.61 and it's in an unusable state.

Which is a shame as I did want to move onto 2.6x for animation.

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.

I do not provide technical support either.

What is unusable, the export script?

May be we could animate on 2.6, export to Pointcache file, import on 2.4 and use 2.4 only to export.
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Import-Export/Export_PC2_Pointcache

I have to teste it.
But I´m  not sure about how to separate the legs from the torso, pivot places, etc ...

i'd rather not overcomplicate things with pointfiles, besides, pointfiles might not even retain tag positions/rotations anyway
