Does anyone else think the UI textures and such are too close to Quake3's? There's that flaming title logo and even the menu sounds are on the same 'note'.

I'm thinking about replacing those main menu frames with spinning gears.

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

Yes. Do whatever with it, just make it look different than quake 3's UI somehow.

As long as the gears look cool and original.

I dont care even that much. I'd just like it to look a bit different than quake 3. The menu would have been fine for a console, but for a computer? Come on. What am I? 12?

not straying off-topic too far. Have you thought about changeing the url in the main menu from quake3world to openarena or perhaps getting a thread on quake3world?

on topic: I really liked the ui from q3f but so long as the gameplay is there it could be all text as far as i'm concerned.

my main concern is i'd like the options settings menu to have more configureable options, like to turn things on and off that some of us frequently use, like the FPS counter for example, without using the command line.
