When I set a 4:3 ratio resolution (like 800x600) it just stretched it to 16:9 (in which my monitor is 1920 x 1080) and I don't want that, I just wanted a 4:3 ratio, not 16:9 stretched 4:3 res. So could you help me on this?

OS: GNU/Linux
Dist: Debian Testing
Graphic Card: Nvidia GTX 770 (Using the Nvidia Proprietary driver)

I would blame the monitor at this point.

I don't think there is any way to make ioquake3 or libSDL do what you want (enforce a pixel aspect ratio of 1.0)

It is really the application's responsibility to handle stuff like that, and most engines are sorely lacking in the control they provide, including ioquake3.

Shouldn't be too hard for OA though.  I have already partially implemented something that could serve as this, as r_tvmode which just forces 640x480 to cover the whole context no matter the window size or the video mode.  This could probably go further with different video modes and enforced aspect correction

Uhm... playing in windowed mode, maybe? I know that's not optimal, but...

Try running in windowed mode; that should make you able to use a different aspect ratio.

Coded in aspect correction. That didn't take very long. Now to get it to center!

EDIT: Got it to center!

Pardon the crap graphics though,  (was) throwback thursday

Yay, I cannot wait for OpenArena 3.0.0! Anyway I'll put up a thread about art concepts on characters of OA3 on the OA3 category.
