Yesterday the Vulkan specs have finally been publicly released meaning anyone can develop for that new API.  It's the new low-level OpenGL for the new hardware, etc.  Unfortunately Apple doesn't support it :/

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OA?!??:
Nothing. OA's graphics are way too high level GL 1.1 stuff to go to Vulkan immediately or even GL2/3/4 immediately without visual comprimise.

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

It may not be relevant for OpenArena but it is nice to finally see an open alternative to Direct3D.

Being an alternative to OpenGL is nicer for emulation purposes just for reducing the latency alone Smiley
