Hi! A player asked to me if there is a server option to prevent players from using thirdperson mode. I don't think it's possible in baseoa, right?

So, the main question is: is there some mod which allows it? How? It sounds like something which may easily be part of some of those "pro" mods, but I'm not really into such stuff.

However, thinking about it, maybe a such option may be worth adding to baseoa in future, maybe using a dmflags?

OpenArena first and foremost is a first-person shooter, so any "third person" mode qualifies as cheat. Perhaps making cg_thirdPerson and related variables cheat-protected?

Some of the third person variables are already cheat protected as it was in baseq3, and i'd personally prefer to make third person more playable instead (i.e. having a 3d crosshair and getting the camera to point to it)

The UT games didn't lock out third person.

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.
