Is it possible to run OA in a window mode? Not only ctrl+tab. So that I can minimize the game into the task.

Run game as Full Screen > Yes/No

And preferably bring down the console when in windowed mode so you escape the window.

really? in os x and linux the console is always the same...(while in windowed mode you can escape the windows with command-tab on os x and switching to the command line and asking the X server to open a new window in the same display you're using - i don't remember exactly the command now - on linux).
