Title: Running on old 1996-1998 hardware Post by: fromhell on April 12, 2007, 01:58:05 AM The 3dfx Voodoo Banshee doesn't look too bad. (http://openarena.ws/shots/oldcard/3dfxbanshee/)..... framerate is quite playable too, around 10fps (in 1280x960x16) to 30-60fps (640x480x16)

Title: Re: Running on old 1996-1998 hardware Post by: tiuk on June 12, 2007, 03:14:41 PM Yeah, I actually had a Voodoo Banshee in the late 90s. With a P3 450 mhz and 128 MB of RAM Q3 ran fairly well.
After running that way for a year or so, I eventually got a Voodoo5 5500, that was killer at Q3 ;) Then after that a QF3, at which point frame rate simply wasn't an issue anymore. Title: Re: Running on old 1996-1998 hardware Post by: THOR on June 20, 2007, 09:30:29 PM Not near as ugly as trying it on the matrox 32 meg agp card with slapped together gl drivers. Why a decent P4 2.66 had that installed is beyond me upped it to a 6800gt low end but alot nicer
