Title: Footstep sound bug in Mac build
Post by: Southern on November 04, 2007, 05:01:10 PM
Hey all, I'm a regular DM player and I love openarena, seeing as I can't be bothered to buy Quake3 via Steam.

Anyway, I have a bug to report. I am running OpenArena 0.70 for Mac OSX on a new aluminium iMac and I have noticed since playing it that whenever I move around a map, I get a constant tone/sound playing in the background that kind of sounds like a droning effect that has nothing to do with the game. I assume this has something to do with the way that OA deals with footstep sound effects. While the game is playable WITH this bug, it's damn annoying when you notice it.

Has anyone else had a similar issue specifically with the Mac build? (I haven't had a chance to check the Windows build myself yet). If so, could someone suggest a fix, or shall I just wait until this is sorted out?

OKay, I feel like a complete numpty - it's the sound effect of that hovergirl model moving that I am hearing. I thought it was a bug! Gah whoops sorry!
