Title: OpenGL Post by: TheCracker on September 06, 2007, 02:00:20 PM It won't launch the game.
It always says "Couldn't initialize OpenGL renderer! Update your videodrivers and be sure opengl is enabled!" But OpenGL IS enabled =( I have Windows Vista and 2 Geforce Go 7950 GTX And I'm using this driver: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13792 I'm getting this problem with OpenArena as well as with AlienArena =( Please help me =( Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: iLeft.bye on September 06, 2007, 02:38:22 PM cant you use drivers from nvidia?
Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: TheCracker on September 06, 2007, 02:49:35 PM There are none.
Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: kit89 on September 06, 2007, 03:06:47 PM Your best bet would be to get rid of Vista...
And either re-install WinXP or a Linux Distro. Either that or replace your graphics card but its for a laptop I assume so that's probably not going to help. You could always dual boot. Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: TheCracker on September 06, 2007, 03:13:36 PM I need Vista for school, dont wonna get rid of it, yeah it sucks

I never realised the new solitaire was required in school. ;) Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: TheCracker on September 06, 2007, 04:05:46 PM We will see... Its a good question...
But our professors are dumb... Last year one prof presse the floppy-button and wondered why the PC didn't boot lol Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: De@thByBl@st on September 06, 2007, 10:53:02 PM Vista 32-bit drivers from Nvidia:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_162.22.html Vista 64-bit drivers from Nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_162.22.html Both have been around since July. ;) Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: kit89 on September 07, 2007, 01:25:57 AM @De@thByBl@st
Quote I have Windows Vista and 2 Geforce Go 7950 GTX Those drivers are good for the original Geforce 7 series but hes got the Go series doesnt have support it seems. He could try them tho and see if they work. :) Title: Re: OpenGL Post by: De@thByBl@st on September 07, 2007, 03:22:46 AM @De@thByBl@st Quote I have Windows Vista and 2 Geforce Go 7950 GTX Those drivers are good for the original Geforce 7 series but hes got the Go series doesnt have support it seems. Doing some checking the Linux x64 driver for those cards is version 1.0-9755, with a release date of March 7, 2007, so it seems like it may be possible. If that driver doesn't work though I would certainly ask in the Nvidia forums... You might also try these, but they are BETA: 32-bit http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_163.44.html 64-bit http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_163.44.html If the first set doesn't work, you might need this bit of info: "Q: Does NVIDIA support notebooks with UDA (downloadable drivers)? Yes, NVIDIA has always been able to support notebooks with the unified driver on nvidia.com/nzone.com, but our Tier 1 OEM partners have always required that we direct customers to their Web sites and disable support for their notebooks in our unified driver. However, NVIDIA does support OEMs/SBs who request that their notebooks be enabled in our unified driver. For example, most of our launch partners are enabled on our Web unified drivers (Sager, Falcon NW, Voodoo PC, ProStar, and others)." Which says to me, that if they don't work then it's probably because of your vendor and they should have drivers for you in that case.
