Title: OpenArena - Internet Servers error (client/server mismatch ie baseoa1 ...
Post by: grifs71 on November 21, 2007, 07:04:38 PM
I am running Fedora 7 with OpenArena installed and it works fine however trying to go to other servers that worked in the past I now receive the following error messages.

Client/Server mismatch baseoa1 does not match server baseoa2?

How can I work around this error or is there cache with invalid folders or something to clear out?

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I am on Linux how can I download the latest version?

Also, I tried to do a yum update on it and it does nothing so I guess the repo has the older version of OpenArena???

I really like the game, I am new to it and not very familiar with all of the howtos and so on?

thanks for the fast reply!

UPDATE ->

I have OpenArena 0.7 installed and I downloaded the patch I run Linux Fedora 7 how do I install the patch???

unzip it
mv pak7-patch.pk3  /path/to/openarena-0.7/baseoa/

If the version in the Fedora repositories only contains 0.7, file a bug against it as that should be considered a bug on their part.

I unzipped the file however I am still unable to get it to work even with symlink, I have created a buzilla bug ticket.

I will continue to try various methods to get it to work, if I have success I will list the procedures on this forum.

thanks,
