yeh, so this is a map i've been working on for quite some time now - "real life" has gotten the progress down to a standstill lately.

and don't even mention the lack of textures, i'm well aware of that =)

ctf map for 4 players on each team.

Dude I actually like the style of the textures.  I think the architecture looks great.  The solid color textures looks tight.  Im not sure if it is just the screenshots, but it looks like the lighting could be brightened up a bit in some places.  If you want some people to play test it I would be up for it.

Excellent design, and the attention to detail(construction wise) is excellent. From the screen shots I see you get a good FPS, what's the r_speeds like though?

Ditto. It looks like a cool map, and I wouldn't mind if it staying in it's current form. It's a very differnt look, but that's what made me go: Whoa! I haven't seen that before! Let's try THAT map! When can we try this map out?

Could you also switch on cell shading for this level?

ok, so here's a playable version of the map. what i would like is some help on is gameplay. and i don't mean some bots running around but some action on a server with real people.
thoughts on anything you come to think of - ammo, health, weapons. and so on. but i won't insert any plasma guns or bfgs :P

the r_speeds are not very good. it will probably give a low frame rate for people with not so new computers and i don't know how to fix that without redesigning the entire map. i've been thinking of something to make the level draw in a more friendly manner, but it would require some serious changes of things i already like...

all work and no play makes pulchr a dull boy... so anyway i've gotten some help from cacatoes and he has set up the "OMG cacatoes did one" server at: 88.160.192.237:27960

it's running 0.7.7, please drop by and test the map.

The lower part of the map seems to be fine when it comes to r_speeds. Though the top levels seem to be greatly affected when facing in.

I would suggest placing a massive wall in the middle of the map, splitting them apart & hopefully reducing the r_speeds by half-ish. Though when you add in arches, the chances of it reducing the r_speeds that much are slim.

So possibly splitting the top section into quarters would be effective enough, like |+|.

I played this map on the new 080 version and i have mixed feelings for it. I think its definately a fun map but lighting is alittle dim. I get a feeling of being in a Dr.Seuss book. It aint the best map i played on but it is fun and different.

Played this map and loved it! Great for 10 ppl or so, which is perfect for servers like Nemesis

oh it was you that done this :D Had a good laugh playing this. Why are none of the OA maps never uploaded to sites like http://lvlworld.com/ ? Is there even an OA map pack?

no, i made them myself
the license in the pk3-file are for all assets. map and jpg, tga and psds

While is was testing the 88 release i noticed, that an old bug still is there (look @ pic).
i tried to fix and compile the map, but it seems, that pulchr used modified settings (maybe gamma?).
it would be nice, if pulchr could fix this issue and make a svn commit (leak is on both sides of this arch).

ps: i know: this topic was closed since 3 years... ;)

i have no idea what compile settings i used, probably some pretty standard ones. i guess i used one of those in the radiant build menu.

I took a deep look inside the map file and you are right:
no obvious bug inside.
a double botclip, but removing them didnĀ“t solve this issue.
as far as i can see, they are identical to the blue archs.
any ideas somebody?

ps: i have pink jumppads if i compile with standard final settings of GtkRadiant XD

the hole appears if you use r_subdivision 1, if i remember correctly - so it's probably the two patches that doesn't line up properly.
