Title: Music, Sound Effects Post by: jute on September 14, 2008, 04:58:51 PM I'd be willing to contribute music and sound for a "FreeHexen" and/or a "FreeHeretic".
Title: Re: Music, Sound Effects Post by: andrewj on September 14, 2008, 09:25:52 PM Note that this project is for Hexen II engine (not Hexen I).
Title: Re: Music, Sound Effects Post by: jute on September 15, 2008, 07:28:32 AM I think "Untitled Project I" was for Hexen II (or "H*x*n **" as the description has it. This subforum's description reads: "Free data project for H*r*t*c/H*x*n GPL source code?"
Title: Re: Music, Sound Effects Post by: andrewj on September 15, 2008, 07:58:29 AM Lol I didn't notice the new forum. Just make music for all of them :-)
Title: Re: Music, Sound Effects Post by: jute on September 15, 2008, 09:56:23 AM I'm willing! I'm not sure if Hexen II uses MIDIs. Is there a plan for OQ+ regarding music, since the original used CD Audio? I'd be fine with doing .oggs for OQ+ and Hexen II (or MIDIs). I don't have much experience with trackers, unfortunately, if that's the route the projects are taking.

It does though only in the Windows port it seems :(Is there a plan for OQ+ regarding music, since the original used CD Audio? I don't even know, there's like only one port I know that subsitutes ogg and tracker (!!! TRACKER MUSIC NATIVELY) for CD music, and one that does mono wavs :( Title: Re: Music, Sound Effects Post by: jute on September 15, 2008, 12:17:54 PM So what free media project is currently getting the most development time, and what do the projects need? I'd be happy to do MIDIs for Dave3D, "FreeHeretic", and "FreeHexen", and oggs/wavs/midis for OQ+ and Hexen II if you go that route, but I'd like to know where it would be most beneficial to focus. How many MIDIs does Dave3D need, for instance?
I'd be happy to provide sound effects to any of those projects too, though they take a little more time to produce. I'm currently contributing music and sound effects to DungeonHack (http://dungeonhack.uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page), and I suspect that a FreeHeretic/Hexen/Hexen II, with its fantasy/medieval themes, would be able to use some of those sounds.
