OA support?
As in... a copy of OA would also have the data necessary (just copied/renamed md3s to mdls and such) to run a OA themed Quacerr OpenQuartzPlus?

- maps wouldnt need recompilation, .ent files would take care of that
- it would be a small .pk3, just slip darkplaces or fteqw in, -game baseoa and it works
- this is a stupid idea that can't be done with q2

- Weapons would have to be different ones

- Gauntlet would be used for the ogre's chainssaw, ogre would be... i don't know
- Machinegun could make a great SuperNailgun
- Shotgun can be a good double barreled shotgun
- Grenade Launcher could be a good Grenade Launcher
- Rocket Launcher could be a good Rocket Launcher
- Plasma Gun would be armed by enforcers
- Lightning gun could be a good Lightning gun
- BFG would have to sit out
- same for railgun, nailgun and chaingun and prox minelauncher

only new weapons that would require modeling is axe, shotgun and nailgun. Axe and shotgun would be easy to come up with, nailgun would have to be the twin barrel kind.

- csqc q3/oa player model support. it's defintiely possible, but this would lead into requiring a new progs.dat and csprogs.dat
- and in that case, we'd also have a nexuiz-ish menu system to modernize the matchmaking
- then optimize the messy Quake netcode for fteqw/darkplaces (i.e. replacing sprite entities with particle effects)
- player models take on new roles as monsters:

- smarine could ebe a cool enforcer.
- beret could make a cool soldier... if you rid the beret
- arachna could make a cool vore
-  etc could make a cool etc
adapting their lower/upper/head scheme to single file .md3s renamed to mdls would be easy actually, action editor in blender is so much fun when you're mashing the anims and keyframes rather than creating them.
