Title: example man
Post by: fromhell on December 28, 2009, 05:16:38 AM
He will be a man done in blender and be simple. If I spend any time doing this, then i'm doing something wrong.

It'll be 'public domain'/wtfpl licensed, so it can be a good base for anyone for any project using the id tech 3 engine of some sort, so it wouldn't be just for OpenArena and if it were then i'm a selfish prat. Credit won't even be mandatory!

I hope it will spark some new player modeling scene. That died out in general in 2007, not even UT3 is attracting a lot of creativity

Example man will show examples of:
- using different flags in animation.cfg, i.e. footsteps boot
- Bot file customization
- Sound customization
- Skinning. There will be JPG, PCX, BMP and TGA skin files
- The use of shaders
- Team skins, and skin specific team skins
- The lower/upper/head split in the .blend file
- LOD mesh making
- Examples of how fromhell makes player models since I am the greatest I am okay at it

The man will resemble 'dumb fighter' for Quake2. Yes, a sphere head.

I'd totally play some match against that guy! Although I'd call him ROFLman or something... :D

Awesome!

Excellent news fromhell! I am always up for learning other people's workflow.
