Title: Other dudes making old school 3d fps
Post by: cheb on April 09, 2017, 06:59:18 AM
122 here is making a tiny but totally stylish 3d shooter.
His software rasterizer has zero overdraw (span buffers and stuff), with lots of trees full of holes too!
The ambience, bro! The style!
Arrrgh, I so wanna play it! (only played a limited beta test once)

I heard rumors that his boss is a recolored cultist, tho.

Panzerschrek[CN] is making a different 3d shooter with software rasterizer

Hmm, that looks like a quake but in a different setting, something like Diablo II.
Loving it :)

Oh, he finished it since! You can buy it here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/581730/Autumn_Night_3D_Shooter/

Very, very short but very hardcore.
And the secrets! Mind-screw much. I haven't seen such things since... Well, I've never seen anything like!
It's the first time when secrets feel like real foul sorcery  @_@

Do recommend :giggity:

PanzerChasm looks pretty cool, Unfortunately the source is mainly in Russian, So I didn't even try to compile with gcc, Wine is also pretty crappy on my system, So it crashed. >:(
I'll give it a try next time I'm on XP (Or a more stable Wine)8,
