ok its working fine now, the only thing i had added to my config file was set rconpassword "password" so i tried removing that and it works now, i don't know why a remote admin password would stuff it up but anyway the point is its working again

I'm just testing setting up a server too, I'm having the same problem getting it to show up in the master server list in game. I can see it locally, and it's showing up here too: http://dpmaster.deathmask.net/?game=openarenaBut I still can't see it in game, I followed the guide on the wiki and have the right port opened on my router, still not sure what I need to do.

So since the server is showing up in the local list for me, it won't show up in the internet list?

Thanks for the info They're on different computers. I'm not sure if the little computer I'm using for the server can really handle it, only a 400 mhz celeron.

Seems to be a routing issue in my case, probably backlash from the earthquake meltdown 2 weeks ago?

I am assuming that you guys all have
seta sv_master1 "dpmaster.deathmask.net"
in your server configs.
I really don't like pointing out the obvious, but sometimes the obvious answer is the right one....

I can't reach it either. I've got the sv_master1 set in the server config (my friend's server), but when I ping dpmaster.deathmask.net I get around 50% packet loss.

Honestly I get 40% loss myself. I don't think it has anything to do with the server though. It's more likely some kind of packet filtering system set up. Snort or something. I could be wrong, but that was my impression. I haven't been off the list yet. What kind of line is your server on? Is it on a dedicated line or are you running it from home?
