When my a/c starts working again, perhaps I'll give a go at some of these.
In the meantime, I'm essentially living on Angelyss' planet. Which, by the way, is the most hilarious justification for a character's nudity that I've seen in a while. :-)
Oh, wait, all of these sounds are for females, right? Perhaps I'll have to bring in some outside help.

Why don't you do it yourself or with the help of a friend of yours, and modify the voice with Audacity and some VST plugins (you may modify the sound in a way it still seems natural but your voice will be unrecognizable).

Okay but the problem with doing what you said they aren't really in consent as they don't know what the license is I prefer contributors that contribute themselves I have done a thread at librivox, let's see how that goes |

Hi
Someone pointed me toward this place because i'm having no luck there.
OpenArena 0.8.0 is going to be finalized around August 1 08 and the project requires voices for the missionpack project which has a voice feature.
I haven't set the radio lines in stone yet but pain/death sounds for some of the redundant sounding characters would be needed since i'm recycling and repitching old 2006 takes.
This is Free Software so contributions must be licensed under the GNU GPL v2. This text isn't well done. 1. introduction: what is OpenArena? (openarena is an free/open source software first person shooter game) 2. come to the point: what do we want? (we want female voices for generic ouch and death sounds but also text readings for a mission pack) 3. sugarcoating: why should you care? (we're a free software project and would like to incorporate some free content (public domain/gpl) 4. screens. because many people are visualophiles. I mean whatever. But it seems you don't really care. |

@qubodup,
I suppose when fromhell says "neither", it means she doesn't want to take the responsibility to follow these auditions that would give extra work to her.
However, if you think your idea is good (I'd say it's always worth to try) this shouldn't prevent you from doing it by yourself and by the rest of the community around OA. The thing is : don't complain if the result isn't integrated to the official OA build, but you can let the community judge if it is worth, and eventually release under GPL some .pk3 with unapproved content, which could contain the voices you produced, and eventually other GPL-compatible ressources that were refused.
