maps? models? mods? please enlighten me!

hi ive been playing OA for a few months now and enjoy alot. i run on a mac 10.4 and would love to enhance my games with stuff but cant find anything please can someone show me the light as to where how and which addons i should get ( ive seen some youtube clips that look cool like playing as snoopy?) i cant download from servers as its like 3kbps and would take hours. any direction would be really cool and i hope to shoot some of you soon.thanks.     Mugglewump matt.

i got that 14 kb/sec on archlinux when curl library wasnt installed. 14/kb sec is quake3/oa limit. but oa has feature to set file location server, so the speeds go up as big as your pipe is (3mbit here).
see what your console says when u connect to server with a mod. if it dont work from game u can copy that location and open up in browser and manually download the files.
edit: files should be stored in your user's home directory /openarena/baseoa
and those files are *.pk3, dont download anything else unless u know what u are doing ^^
