What utilities are required/recommended to make a map?  (Preferably Linux-native, but if I can WINE it that's good enough.)  I'd like to mess around with building a couple, if not for inclusion then at least to play with my texture set a bit and get a better idea what might be lacking for when I make some new ones.

The only usable editor in Linux, afaik, is GTKRadiant.

Under Windows there is Quark, which I'm going to get to grips with when I have more free time (even though I normally use Linux).  I tried GTKRadiant and hated it.

Then you need map compiling tools, the H2 equivalent of qbsp, light and vis.  I'm not sure what they are or where to get them (for Linux check uhexen2.sf.net), though I think the BSP format is the mostly same as Quake1 and hence Q1 tools will also work for small-to-medium size maps.

I guess I will use BSP (the editor) since I've used that before, even though it's Windows-only.
