So I'm using ubuntu for the first time.  I think I installed OA correctly, but it is extremely buggy.  Maybe I installed wrong.  Can someone guide me through the process?  Which file to download and how to start from there?
I can start the game just fine, but when configuring the menu, the screen goes suddenly black, which just some wierd mouse graphic.  When getting into the game (single player) after a few seconds the graphics go all weird... what to do?

Kilgore. I think you have installed properly.
I would sugest you look at your video drivers.
Make sure screensaver is turned off too.
Ubuntu forums have lots of threads about video drivers.

hey jesus...thanks.  somehow i can't find help for this on the ubuntu forums.  Like I said, I know nothing about linux.  I don't know what a video driver is or how to "look at it"......a more detailed exaplanation would be appreciated!

AFAIK, Ubuntu has enabled Compiz by default, you need to turn it off to play.
I don't know how to exactly, but google surely will, mybe in the desktop settings (when you configure wapllpaper and s stuff), turn off "Desktop effects".

BTW: welcome to GNU/Linux Smiley

Killgore.
I use an ATI video card and Ubuntu forums have this.
If you don't have the same card do a search for similar threads.
