I have created a simple but effective OA-protopage website:
http://www.protopage.com/milesteg#My_public_category/OpenArena

It lists many of the recent news about the game and includes the most useful links.

This index just has wip shots and clean non-watermarked shots. most are random and aren't in the gallery.

This question has probably been answered elsewhere . . . but how to I INSTALL these maps after I've downloaded them, so I can play them in Open Arena?

I'm using Ubuntu Feisty 64-bit on a Biostar board with an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor.

in the map is .pk3 file you must put it in the baseoa folder, if it is a .bsp one put it in baseoa/maps (create "maps" if there isn't one).

anyway, your question is a little off-topic here..

Use the .torrent as pulchr provided the link for, it's a safe bet. Here is the thread where the pack is posted for further info, and screenshots: http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=953.0

Kikou,
I set up a board to share a few things with players I know in OA, and I took screenshots of most models listed in on this page : http://ioquake3.org/models/
You can see these pics here : http://jolie.techa.free.fr/screenshots/models/
I also made a selection of the ones I like : http://jolie.techa.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25

I also published some screenshots (which were already done) of the map pack made by w1zrd (sorry, calling you wizard Cheesy) :
CTF Maps : http://jolie.techa.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16
Other Maps (DM, ...) : http://jolie.techa.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24

It's a rather bilingual board, so normal if you meet some french words Wink

See ya

Edit: I added a zip file with all the model screenshots : http://jolie.techa.free.fr/files/screenshots%20all%20models.zip ; easier to view locally

Thanks to Cacatoes I put the files in gallery format and are a reasonable size to get an idea of the model :

Good idea, just to add : I didn't shot every model, some didn't work, and some looked obvious (homer simpson, & other famous characters we can easily guess how they look).
So for an extensive list of models, check the ioquake3 page.
If you want me to add new models I forgot, make a list of the missing ones and I'll try to do that.

No thats perfect. There are often requests for people to see images of models on our site based in the US, mainly younger people. Now I'm on a mission to get all the levelshots for maps at 160 x 120 for the game browser and using the ref/rcon web based interface to check out the maps using AJAX  Smiley
