The portable bomb that Bane designed for me. The modelling is complete, next I will start on the uvmapping.

Do you want to introduce bomb mode like Warsow recently did?

Would be cool Smiley

Yes, that's the plan. Smiley

I'll get this bomb model working and make a suitable map before I start bothering coders though.

All the uvmapping is done and I've baked ambient occlusion to give the bomb some shading (it'll do for now). Next I need to export it to a model and get it set up in the game. I'm hoping to get some shader scripts working so that the red and blue flow along the pipes and the purple pulsates or something like that.

I haven't got the bomb working in the game as an md3 yet, but I've got it working as ase models. I've attached a map called bomb_0001 to this post where you can see the bomb next to a rocket launcher. Does the bomb look the right size?

WOW nice job man this looks cool. I’m sure you’ll get all that other stuff done and it will look even more awesome.

Glad you like it Bane. I was thinking about adding some kind of mechanism to activate the bomb, any suggestions?

I think it could be like 1,5x larger for better visibility but I might be wrong Tongue

Looks really neat.

MIOW - I was wondering about scaling it up myself. I put the rocket launcher in there for an idea of scale and the bomb does look small. I'll try your 1.5x and see how it looks.

How about when you pick up the bomb you get an icon to the side (pictured below) of a knife switch I was thinking this would go perfect with the bomb since it looks kinda mad scientist like. Also to active you use the same key you use to active an item when you pick it up. Finally I was wondering if when the switch is thrown you think it would be a good or bad idea to have a count down or just have it go off.

You've got to have the countdown, that's a huge part of the fun of bomb mode. It adds some real suspense when the counter-terrorists are trying to defuse the bomb and they are running out of time. Smiley

I liked the idea of a knife switch, so I stuck one on the model. I guess a knife switch logo should be possible too.

Excuse me, how would be that "bomb" game type?
