Not sure if it is right spot but I want also to share a improved version of a original 0.88 map set:

q3dm6ish

reasons for touch that map:

- I like the concept of that map, to have a q3dm6 layout style at OA
- sorry for saying but the map was terrible
- too claustrophobic, too much architecture fail and too odd

My changes:

- increasing the high of the roof
- changing the style of the stairs.
- enlarging some zones of the whole map
- add some architectural details

That is maybe not the final state, but it shall now be a better map feeling.
I do not have care for now much about the texturing
Want also not to destroy the whole map and sorry for converting and modding that map  punched

Also I am not sure this is the right thread for that...

However, it would be nice to see that map with proper lightning.

PS: Some items on the pillar seem "misaligned".

Thanks I have done a look into it. Yes I have also fix a lot of brush errors ... dear that map was a BSP massacre.

So a job you also have done. The tread is from 2011 you still work on that?
Have read you had issues to compile your last *.map file, I like to take a look into it.

If you like Neon we can make a cooperation to bring q3md6ish to aggressor like.

I would realy like to see polish of some default OA maps.  

You can take a look at my work the *.map file is with inside my *.pk3 file.
Maybe it is not needed to remake it from scratch ... I can remove all the lights and put some new lighting from scratch.

Regarding brush work I have a lot of ideas that cames up while take my hand at these "map improvement project"

That is not the original map thats already a new version from scratch or?

However it looks realy nice and much better than the original one. There is more structure in the layout.  Kiss

have compiled the map file ...  Shocked ... wow its that a huge map. maybe a little too huge.
But better that claustrophobic maps  Wink

one think I have seen the stairs is not possible to use, steps are to high (see screenshot below)
Steps can only taken by jumps.... Sad  step by step = jump by jump

 Undecided  hhmmmm  ... verry big dimensions of the map and stairs with to high steps...  have I some scale issues on my side?

EDIT:

The steps have a high of 32 in my editor  Huh
A reasonable value of that high would be 16 or better 8 .... see my animation below (damn, upload folder full, sorry)

That's a texture from Nexuiz I forgot to pack with the pack (lol).

If you want, you can continue from where I have left. OA will get rid of the Quake tributes (they're going to be available in a separate mappack, it has its own repository in Github).
