Hi.
Today i was playing on the Multiplayer and there was a player Dino@Debian that was flooding (sending messag every second) and everone wanted to kick him out but when i called a vote to kick him, he changed his nickname and the vote was failed.
What to do in that situation?

i think you can call a vote to kick his clientnumber instead. though i'm not sure what command to use to see the client list with numbers.

That's a good start! I'll look for it, thanks!

.....................................................

I checked and you can find a player "qport" by
Code:
\status
But only when you are running the server.
If you do, then find the player numer you are looking for and
Code:
\clientkick
I repaet, only if You are running the server, so i couldyn't kick anyone :-/
The problem is still on ... :-/

Type /serverstatus instead of /status ; it will work client-side.
But it often leads to mistakes because these number seem to change during the game. (They are not the same then the ones given by /status when you're admin).
Im not sure missionpack handles these things better. Another way would be to be able to mute the guy ...

Cacatoes , ok, "serverstatus" , but then what? "clientkick" also won't work being an user.

menganito , he just removed his first letter from the name.

Will the players number apear on the vote or his nickname?
How can i inform other players that i'm casting a vote to kick THAT player?

Only number appears. You should say who and why you are trying to kick.

imo the voting system of openarena should be improved - it's far too clumsy. screen messages and voting should be explained better. like who started the vote about what for what reason or something. not sure but very often new players don't know it's a vote going on and what it means.

There is a difference between "saying once" and flooding like YOU did and pissing off other players and doing it on purpose.
If it was for me, such spoiled brat like You should be banned for month at least.

I'm still thinking that a (simple, at least, and to begin) GUI system for voting should be implemented.

That's because the game loads the model of the newcomer.
Try force player models on. There also was a nifty cvar that  made loading the newcomer's model wait till you die or hit the TAB to see scores.
