I have retextured another Vondur map called "Uzuldaroum III",
which he released under the GNU GPL.  It is not finished but it
mainly lacks polish (texture alignments etc).

Please give it a whirl, see what you think.

Sorry no screenshots.

DOWNLOAD: http://glbsp.sourceforge.net/files/oa_uzul3_b1.pk3

All the new textures are either GPLv2 or public domain:
+ the brick and stone textures are based on photos from the
     Bulgaria set (DSC00714 and DSC00643).
+ the coin is from Wikimedia and under the GPLv2.
+ the wood carving, devil carving and chinese characters are
from Wikimedia, faithful reproductions of very old (out of
copyright) works and hence are public domain.
+ rock.jpg is a recolored OA texture (dirt.jpg iirc).

WOW nice map! The gameplay is fast, and there are places for circlejumps and rocketjumps. The textures are beautiful too, the whole map has a well created mood. However I don't think Bible like devil carvings and European scolar carvings should be mixed with Chinese characters, they don't match so well.

Well, actually space/industrial-themed things and Chinese characters don't fit well each other, in fact. Cheesy

COME ON PEOPLE... Chinese characters belong everywhere and at any time, who cares what they mean or where they're placed!

Quite a departure from Vondur's other maps, eh?

I happened to have downloaded the original from lvl-world the other day.
The original texture set wasn't very good.  Vondur wrote that he was looking
for something 'wet' looking, and the original atmosphere was darker, going
for a ruined temple look.  The teleporters and jump pads are pretty cool
looking though.

The new textures are much better and lighter, as is the lighting overall.
The heavy brick and mortar rather than the rough cut
stone of the original, along with the coin textures, says Roman
ruins to me, though the stone reliefs with the medieval
look seemed to fit also.

I'm with Udi and Neon_Knight:  maybe more of the medieval looking things
instead of the coins or Chinese characters.   Should they be fiendish or
scholarly?  ... FIENDISH! :-)

Vondur has a sense of humor.  That tricky jump-jump-jump to the MH, with
the convenient jump pad and protruding brushes to let you get back up
to try again if you fall trying.  The holes in the floor to chuck grenades into.
And that long tunnel to the RG with the teleporter behind it - very spooky.

The texture scale is a little big though, making it look a bit low detailed. Try texture scale 0.25 or 0.5 but NOT 1.0!

There's also a HOM problem with one teleporter.

andrewj gave me permission to take care of this one, so I'll be working on it.
