i downloaded very much maps for Open Arena but where do i have to copy them?
i only got following folders: OpenArena -> baseoa

Well if the maps are in pk3 form, you can safely put them in baseoa.

i did, all maps are in .pk3 in the folder baseoa
but i cant play them or even see or select them in OpenArena

You can't select the downloaded maps via the menu, unless they have an .arena file associated with them. But don't worry. All you have to do is skirmish play any other map and as soon as you're ingame, press the ` key (the uppermost left, under [esc]) to bring down the console and just type in "/map czest1dm" followed by enter - supposing, your downloaded map is named czest1dm.bsp

hello there,

my first post here!
this is really cool stuff your doing and giving away!
anyway... i downloaded a few maps and then spent
quite a while trying to work out how to play those maps.

maybe this thread could be made sticky as i'm sure it's
going to be of interest to most oa noobs (like me). or perhaps
i am just being dumb and couldn't find the info where i should
have!

anyway, first post over. nice one! love from g
