OpenArena has reached the final round in the category: "Best open source game" of this Open Source awards which gives a donation of EUR 300 to the winner. I'd recommend to vote for OpenArena.  At this time it is near to first place!

It is proudly nominated as projects such as FlightGear and AssaultCube. Last year, this category didn't exist but OpenOffice.org was awarded in this contest:

Voted Cheesy (From 9th to 8th place thanks to it Cheesy)

It's nice for these projects to get a bit of recognition.
I wouldn't want to support already well established softwares, ones with firms behind, ones which already got means. Smaller, active and more original ones deserve more.

We know there are many different projects with different needs, that is why we created 4 categories in this open source awards:
  - Best Open Source
  - Most Revolutionary Open Source
  - Open Source where more donations are needed
  - Best Open Source game

Ok voted too now, where can you actually see how many votes a game has?

edit: posted on 3 clanforums. 6th place now (risen 2 since yesterday!). Let's continue like that Smiley
Btw, the game which was first yesterday is now 4th. The top is probably only a few votes apart (else it wouldn't change that fast), so we make a good chance if we ask enough people.

I tried to find a vote tally too. I'm not sure it's available.

I suppose because "cheating" isn't a good thing... and using more email adresses to have the same person vote multiple times is like cheating..

Should just have saved the combination of IP and e-mail. Still easy via the Tor network or other proxies, but harder for the average newb at least...

Seems the contest is closed since today, I haven't tried but there still is an option to vote.
I suppose they'll have a check on results, and notice winners soon Wink
Donation is 100$, not 300$ as it was announced by mistake.

Rigs of rods is in good place to earn the price, they promoted it and they had an enthusiast community behind to support them Wink

OA is 5th right now, which is not bad at all.

I can't preserve myself from being surprised PokerTH ended 2nd (it's like Gnome Chess was on the way to be nominated), having a community made of gamblers participating to a contest involving money is quite a special case Tongue

Better than last time I looked, seems spamming it on a couple of forums worked Smiley
