You can import elite force models to blender.
* it will load first lod(I dont know where to put other lods)
* not sure if the animations are accurate
* there is a file called mdr_export; it doesn't work yet sorry

Tell me how you would to select lods to export in blender.
1) Custom field for main surfaces that reference the lods
2) Surfaces named blah_0, blah_1, blah_2
3) Something else

I'd have the LOD meshes shifted into different layers for organization, and object names given an _1 _2 respectively, having the exporter to also select those (if available) and export the selected object/armature along with the LOD mesh objects.
