i have downloaded the game 5 times and reinstalled it as many.As soon as i click on game it opens the little run box and then turns my screen grey and then i get a windows error msg saying msvcrt.dll.iv tried dling file and placing it in open arena since there is not actually that file in the folder but that does nothing.Ive searched for it and have located it in many spots in my comp like system 32 and java apps.i thought maybe it was something to do with my graphics card but ive changed my x1600 to my 9800 as well as drivers and still same problem?!!!Getting frustrating! HELLPP PLEASE!

Weird, because it works right on a clean Win95 system with just only a basic video driver.

Do you use XP? Have you tried playing it in Win2000 compatibility mode? (Yes, that does make luck a little better running it under XP in some cases)

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

Weird, the game will run on a fresh install of xp pro and in a fully patched xp sp2 without compatibility mode, albeit it requires AMD's catalyst driver's (tested on a radeon 9800).

Try disabling sound or changing your sound driver in the config file.

try disabling openAL in your config file
Code:
seta s_useOpenAL "0"

It's the only thing that I can think of that would use the visual c++ run time...
