Our previous release was a bit buggy and so we did this patch to fix things up and polish some graphics here and there. This contains no engine binaries and can only be installed on the 0.7.0 version. Changes:- Angelyss/dark_blue is more blue on costume - New item icons from anyone - Less bots for oa_dm2 in single player campaign - Fan crash fix - You can no longer walk in the sky on Suspended - Beret is more polished, wears his beret properly - Announcer is a bit louder and much cleaner - New rocket smoke Zip archive mirrors: ModDB - 3DDownloads |

no because the fixed version has more errors than ever before (i.e. you changed the weapon animation hand frames! and ugly torso bobbing when running)

i have a few questions... haha i was wondering i this update 1. came for macentoshs 2. enabled cheats without taking all of the bots out of the arena 3. enabled multiplayer for satalight internet connections (thats all i can get)
great game i like to play it...

correct If that's correct, then you have to have root permissions when installing OpenArena from the repositories in Ubuntu. Can you please state on the download page how to install the patch? I think it would be beneficial to many users. |

You can also install the pk3 file locally: put it in ~/.openarena/baseoa/ ~ is your home directory (e.g. /home/brettalton/), maps starting with a dot are hidden by default. |

just for further clarification, you can either put the patch into your home directory's openarena folder with nautilus (the file browser) or the terminal. first unzip the zip file you downloaded and put the pk3 in your home directory and then either...
open nautilus, copy the patch, select "view" then "show hidden files" to reveal the .openarena folder, enter this folder then enter the baseoa folder and paste the patch here.
or open a terminal and type
mv pak7-patch.pk3 .openarena/baseoa
(sorry if this is stuff you already know, but it might be useful for someone).

openarena-0.7.0/baseoa and not the hidden .openarena/baseoa on my installation (kubuntu 7.04) of it, patch and everything works like a charm.

As you may or may not know, a native OS X app is like a self contained Folder/Application. Can I simply drop the 0.7.1 pak7-patch.pk3 file patch directly into the baseoa folder inside the Application package?

drop it in the application package>Contents>MacOS>baseoa or in a "baseoa" folder in the same folder of the application package or in ~/Library/Application Support/OpenArena/baseoa. It is the same. |

Sweetness, I just finished running through the tiers under I can Win just to get some points. Now i'll work on raking up the points of the higher up difficulties. BTW, once in a while the game flips out and freezes for a few seconds. It usually gts over whatever is pissing of OA, however should I try and lower some of the system quality of the game to see if it clears up even more?
