multiple players behind firewall can't connect to same server

(several family members trying to join same server , first person connects without issue, when 2nd person connects they get awaiting game state, and first person gets knocked off of the server )
(I have not tried this with different family members trying to connect to different game servers)

Tested 0.8.0 with and without patch

All PC's involved are running Windows XP (with and without XP firewall enabled)

I tested with other versions of the game, 7.6, 7.1 and these versions don't seems to have this issue, everyone connects and it's frag city.

Tested on DLINK, Lynksys , and pf-sense. Single IP with NAT
(All work with previous versions, don't work with version 0.8.0)

I apologize if this has already been posted but I looked all over, I think this one is unique and hasn't been posted yet.

I also have some issues with the server crashing, I eliminated some of the maps in the rotation and that seems to help somewhat. One bug or unadvertised feature I have found is it never crashes when I'm watching it Smiley. When I have time I'll turn on logging and give more details (or look for a solution).

As far as game play is concerned, version 0.8.0 ROCKS, it has the "feel" back, I tried later versions but stayed with 7.1 until now. I'm migrating to 0.8.0!

This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. The broadcasters of your area in voluntary cooperation with the Federal, State and local authorities have developed this system to keep you informed in the event of an emergency. If this had been an actual emergency, you would have 8 seconds to pray.

I had a very similar problem with the 0.7.6 version (except instead of getting kicked off the server, the second player's screen would just freeze). I was given the solution here: http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=1817.msg15147#msg15147. Let's hope you have the same issue as me Smiley

The instructions there may be a little vague, so what I did was this:
 1) Open the q3config.cfg file manually with a text editor
 2) Paste the following stuff at the bottom of the file and save the file.
Code:
<code>
seta net_port 32000
seta net_port6 32000
seta net_qport 32001
</code>
Do this only on one computer, not both. Make backups just in case.

This allowed both computers on my network to access the same server with no problem. I couldn't try it with more than 2 computers, so I don't know if it will work with more than 2. (Perhaps someone with more technical knowledge can help you there.)

Anyway, give it a try and see what happens. It could be something else entirely though Sad
