Can you break the code?

Ok, :S wow, so OA IS A BETA!!! Damn guys, you really gotta get your asses into gear.

Even for a beta stage game, fromhell and her staff have really come a long way from what it seems. And since it's only 5 to 6 people developing OA, I'm in no rush.  I'm perfectly content with 0.8.1 for the time being. ^_^

I'm actually trying to spread OA around through word of mouth, basically saying that it's just like Q3A, but free!  I mean, who doesn't love a free game?  Plus, I think it'll get people who've not played Q3A to see what they've missed out in the early 2000s when it comes to fragfesting.  Who knows?  Maybe the servers will be super crowded one day... (and not just with bots.)

The real producers that aren't lazy at the mo is pulchr, ArmageddonMan and cosmo. I'm the ultimate lazy ass that is holding OA up. enki's very busy lately with RL, which is why there's not many new fresh models for OA in recent times.
Don't forget kit89. Cheesy schlorri has done some coding work as well.

EDIT: AND SAGO TOO!!! How can we forget him!!! He does his (greater) part with OAX.

"Detailed" is nice, but if it gets in the way of clarity, it ceases being a nice addition and becomes a problem. - TVT

Building hype always leads to disappointment.
Not always. Some games are just too overhyped for their content -GTA4 for example- but this game is the best firstpersonshooter I know. But as it's not commercial (which means no ads anywhere and not in stores) you can't really build a hype much.

I really like OA myself, The GPL princeple behind it, I think OA is the most worthy successor to q3 after the engine got gpl-ed.
I am really looking forward to be playing 1.0 and try to do my 2 cents, by running some servers with popular settings/mapcycles and some gimp work. I find it pretty challenging to start with the all white GIMP square, so i usually pick some basewall from the OA svn as a background. I am not very good at that either, so it takes me a long time to get something decent.

Anyway, i'd promote this OA beta like a preview beta, not yet finished but completely playable.
