I tried using GTKRadiant14 and it didn't work or let me create new files. What happened was I chose OA as my baseq3 folder and it created a baseq3 folder right underneath my baseoa folder. Do I need to do anything special to use GTKRadiant with OA and Nexuiz?

edit - don't know if I have X11 on my comp, having some trouble getting the file to DL off versiontracker -

All the elements you need are there : (DO NOT LINK) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Configure_GTK_under_windows

In any case you should be able to create some new file, so please be more explicit about your problem.
Also, copy the log file you get when starting GTKradiant, it might contain some hints.

i'm not sure what the differencies are but there's a 1.5.0 version of gtkradiant you might wanna try.

after installing there are some DO NOT LINK[/b]) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Configure_GTK_Radiant_under_Linux#Configuration]files that need to be edited for gtkradiant to recognize your openarena install.

I guess he's under a Mac, no?
IGISTR he said that once.

EDIT: He's under a Mac, I remember him saying that in the Invul/Grapple models thread.

There a Mac mapping page on the wiki too. Looks like kick52 is familiar with the subject.

And what happens with my baseoa folder

Basically I can't get it to work. Do I need both 14 and 15 installed?

Ok I found and installed x11sdk, but I can't find it. Also the Baseq3 folder in the ~/.radiant/ director is still empty.

You download the entire directory as it is, change paths in games\oa.game, so these can suit with your Mac paths, (forget the other ones) and put it in your GTKR directory.

I am having a problem with the tools/radiant1_5/oa.game/baseoa/entities.ent file in the svn.  When I try to use that file in my oa.game/baseoa folder of gtkradiant the entities will not show up in Radiant.  When I use the default Q3 entities.ent that comes with radiant the entities work in Radiant.  I am wondering if there is something wrong with the file or something I need to add to it.  I am not very computer savy.

Try renaming entities.ent to entities.def.

Changing it to a DEF does not work.  Could it be I have something pointing toward the wrong directory?

Put the files from Neon_Knight's link into your GtkRadiant/install directory. I think GtkRadiant will ask where your OA install is after you launch it. You may not need to edit it's location in 'games\oa.game' text file (a programs location on your harddrive is called a path).

Try and launch GtkRadiant and tell us what happens.

-snip
what files? All I get is a bunch of links in a directory

Those links in the directory are folders. Inside of them are files.

Make folders with the names 'games', 'oa.game', and 'q3map2' inside of your GtkRadiant/install directory. Some of those folders may already exist. Place the corresponding files from the svn links into your new folders. Launch gtkradiant and cross your fingers. Smiley

It's easier to download the whole thing with a svn command but that might complicate things.

gtkradiant.install directory. that's ~/.radiant/1.5.0/ right?

Also the files try and download as HTML. Is that Opera's fault?

Wow Noob Sauce, I apologize for the really late reply. Sad

I don't think "~/.radiant/1.5.0/" is right. The install directory should be the one that has the radiant executable.

As for Opera downloading everything as HTML, look for something like a "save link as" option. You might find this option with a right click over a file name in the SVN.

gtkradiant is a big headache indeed.  Specially 1.5.0.  I dont know why they removed the thicken option from 1.4.0.  Dont know what's a proper, good way of mapping for idtech3 games these days.
