Here in short term:

http://rapidshare.com/files/247131962/MMUfloodedhall.pk3.html

Some textures new - all created by authors. Other textures from OA stock. Submitted under gpl. People might check correct licensing conditions.

Map has been played and modified a lot - but if there are any bugs post here. This is a small, fast multiple path CTF, INSTAGIB map that should scale for multiple players in interesting ways

Loaded on the MMU server...

Any news from this map ?

Screenshot and map isn't available, and I doubt I have kept it.

missed the post..

Background:

Floodedhall was a map built by undergrduate students. It complies with gpl 2.0 (textures and shaders included) and has had extensive playability testing. When it was released on our server a LOT of people liked to play it (although they hated the art Wink ). we teach game design through playability on this unit rather than texturing and "plotting".

We have just gone through another round of map building. I believe we will be producing a map pack of four maps including flooded hall.

These maps are very playable under instagib/ctf. There have little value in other modes and have no bot support. These maps are NOT an aesthetic experience. These are "shooting from the hip"  maps... You have to be good with movement and aim to dominate.

May you upload this map somewhere ? I could then host it somewhere else, if it's GPL it's all fine !

Three maps:

MMU2110
MMUfloodedhall
neo

Download here:
http://www.adrive.com/public/5992d0d8135e178c303ffc7dedb3b0aabaa5841be1a8881e2f2146fdfb2ac338.html

You need to unzip them and place them in your basoa folder.

All under GPL 2.0 - textures created by me - hence they are rubbish. Source included. The course looked at map playability not artistic ability. Floodedhall plays best with 2-8 players. Neo proved to be the most popular map.

These are the best/most enjoyed of 12 maps that were created last year and saw hundreds of hours of play and refinement on internal and external servers. They are explicitly designed for instagib ctf.

There will be a few more on their way - I have just received a further 18 to grade.

New download location.

Sorry for the delay, but this one wasn't in my generic OA backup, it was on my old desktop backup which I always forget to check.

Thanks Graion, the 3 files whithin this pack are now hosted here:

http://download.tuxfamily.org/openarena/autodownload/baseoa/MMU2110.pk3
http://download.tuxfamily.org/openarena/autodownload/baseoa/MMUfloodedhall.pk3
http://download.tuxfamily.org/openarena/autodownload/baseoa/neo.pk3

I forgot about those maps. I haven't tested them but as there are the .map source file whithin the .pk3s they could be commited to the SVN.
Their naming could get a bit more consistency and caps may be removed.

Thanks too to the map authors.

Of course! I gained the right to post up the AAS files required for botplay! Cheesy

http://graiondilach.uw.hu/oa/MMUaas.pk3

//I should've checked the maps before I reuploaded them...

EDIT:While the contents are GPL, the maps are quite unfinished for generic OA. Since it's aiming as instagib, there are no items placed.

Yeap, I took a quick look to them. They reminded me of those Sniper Arena maps for Unreal Tournament.

Some prefix/suffix like "insta" in map name could be of some hint. I suppose this is intentionnal and they're not designed to be played in other modes than insta, so unless drastic adaptation they're not meant to be that good for standard gameplay.
