Hey i would like to know your thinking about the best maps rotation for insta+rj?

Have quite no idea about what to put on ^^
Would like to have smth quite diff that only the usual one Cheesy

It's mod with gaunlet, instagib and rocket Wink (rj = rocket jump)
With high speed, that mean you go fast and you need map without too much camp spot ^^

@RMF : ps37 is already on ^^

RJ often refers to rocket jump, can't it refer to RAIL-Jump in that case ? Seems no but I wondered.

and yes rj = rocket jump.

there is no rail jump at all (i don't like it ^^),
it's same mod as in old Evil|insta+rj (the one of SKC Sabastian Cheesy)

Another thing: the original creator of the Unlagged Rocket-Rail mod (Sabastian) wrote on this forum in the last days, you can take a look to this post.

The only mod that I remember now that includes "railjump", instead, is DO NOT LINK[/b]) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/ModCompat/CorkScrew]CorkScrew.

About a nice map for that Insta-RJ mod... maybe mlca1... since it is designed for Elimination/Clan Arena mode, it should be nice cause of many rocket jumps...

for map suggestions, I like maps with several floors to take advantage of the rj, like pul1ctf. I would probably stay away from space maps, because it makes work for campers so much easier Smiley
MLCTFBETA1 is a good map too, if there are no campers you can use the jump pads + rj to make fast caps, and if there are campers it's easy to sneak behind campers because of the lower levels Wink

I'm not sure if you want to stick with stock ctf maps, but I think MAPEL4B would be good, Q3WCP9 is also nice.

One of my favorite mods, rctf (also known as R:UI or reactance: insta-unlagged) has rail jumps in it.
here is a video of a very old OA server that used to run it

currently the only server I know that runs it is [OANAGE], but to get it you have to:

The mod on OANAGE is not stricktly rctf, I beleive bill just added some cvars (like the ones you posted). Reguardless, it has been tested a fair amount so that it feels the same as the classic rctf/r:iu.

regardless, if you /callvote custom rctf, it loads up all the proper server settings for rctf, as well as resets the rotation for rctf maps, so I am not sure why you are disagreeing with me here...

I am not disagreeing with you , I've played that mod on OANAGE and I found it as funny as you wrote : you've probably missed the last line of my previous post .
What I meant is that the mod cannot be distribuited as binary only because it is based on OA085 SDK . So Bill should provide the sources too or post them somewhere because of GPL2.

Uh? Isn't the pure check (that should always be active to maintain compatibility through OA patches) that does not allow for custom models?

Hi all again.

I have not played this Open arena but a few minutes, so i do not know any map names.
I did however put one of the maps i made in my baseoa and it played fine. It is missing one texture
and that is the default Q3 shader for a transporter. Check it out at file planet Hells-attic is the name of it
don't have a link. I also played with the Pak0.pk3 and put my railgun back in it hehe. Is there a way to make your weapon smaller?
I used to have a 8 map rotation on my server switching gametypes too. GL finding the right combo. But your wrong on the space maps
i love them hit them once with a glancing blow woth rocket switch to rail and blow them up. MID AIR ROCKET SHOTYS RULE :-)

Yes , it was my intention ... because it's not the original Quake3 mod , nor another mod based on Quake3 SDK , but specifically a mod based on OA085 SDK

I can ask bill if he is willing to share the source code ...

Since OA 085 SDK is distribuited under GPL2 licence terms , every work based on it MUST be distribuited under the same licence or superior so the source code distribution is not optional or discretional but it's mandatory.

I was just wondering if there aren't legal issues because if the bit of code which was added isn't GPL compatible, then it seems the whole work couldn't be GPLed (nor distributed ?). When you bring code into a GPL project, it needs to take a compatible license or am I too stone ? Cheesy
