An existing thread about this problem:
http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=4245.0

I suppose this is an engine-side thing that maybe may be fixed by ioquake3 guys... but before submitting the problem to them, I wanted to have more infos and opinions from OA developers (also considering that ioquake3 already created a new init string type, and I have not understood well what it "changes" and when OA will adopt it).

Guys, if you wanna continue that thread, that may be interesting...

Maybe Fromhell does not like threads in the wrong sections... You may try to open a new thread in the "development" section, or to continue the existing ones that I linked above...

Your indeed right about the excessive amount of info strings. It seems theres a certain number of letters and space you can use for the info, such as the amount of space you can use while posting on a forum.

Maximum length of info string is 1024. This limit exists with the game engine, it cannot be solved with mods.

Do you know if ioquake3 1.37 will still have the same limit?

I don't think so, but anyway even if ioquake3 would lift this limit, dpmaster would still have to update their software to allow for more than 1473 characters.
