Ok confirmed, when I connected to the server with the update already installed on my side, it still required me to download a separate ps9ctf.pk3.
So I think we can conclude that they have a conflicting pk3 map that should be removed from their servers now that ps9ctf has been included in OA 0.8.8 pk3.

This post has been written at the same time of GrosBedo's post above this one: Maybe it's the server that has got the problem of having 085 patch under homepath and 088 patch under basebath?
I imagine this problem may affect the server as well as it can affect the client... It would be an unmanaged patch conflict, too... like when a messed up 088 client connects to a valid 088 server, but inverted.
UPDATE: GrosBedo's post above this one seems interesting...

LSS: we cannot take responsability of what the server admins place in their server dirs outside of the official packages.

Im running 188.40.48.143:27977 (Server C a few posts earlier) i removed that old pk3's now. Many Servers could run into this problems, maybe a newspost about the old pk3's from "beta maps" would be a good idea? Not every serveradmin is reading here much. But at least i dont had any Problems with ps9ctf after upgrading the server to 0.8.8.

Also take a look at the Wiki page about Download Mirrors. I'll add file sizes and checksums asap. Done.

Then it's a problem of the server. It might be outdated (i.e. using a previous version of the map, the one in 0.8.5, as the one in 0.8.8 was changed) or there's another pk3 corrupting the map.
There's also the chance that it might not be a pure server...
If offline ps9ctf is normal, it should also be normal online.
' ' So are you guys gonna fix the bugs IVE LISTED and Virus listed

Swaggerall... if I understood correctly (but I may be wrong) the problems with that specific map were caused by those servers: - server A has sv_pure turned off, and this is bad. - server C was using a different version of the map... try connecting to it again now.

In fact, the problem is server C having a ps9ctf.pk3 with a different version of ps9ctf. This is the server admin's responsability. Not ours. Nothing to fix on our part here.

i will tell you guys finally about the elimination bugs that you all made it like im an idiot for trying to tell you about... What he is refering to is the begining of Elimination matches , instead of spawning on a specfic spot you spawn in the wall/bridge/water of ps37ctf i dont know why

ah, forgot about that. certain sounds are ... disabled. you won't hear the rocket fire sound, but you'll hear the sound being generated from rockets. you also wont hear explosions etc

ps37ctf isn't going to be fixed. ps37ctf2, on the other hand, will.
I'm not going to work on the "dummied out" maps (maps which aren't selectable through Skirmish or Create Server)

You failed to understand me, ignore Swaggerall. The problem is not with the maps, the problem is with OA's internal functions. When playing elimination whichever team spawns first gets to run around the map during warmup. (team A) Meanwhile, every single member of team B spawns dead in a wall, underwater, or in some random place. The map does not matter, it's not a map issue.
